1995 inline 6 diesel leaking fuel

This car is leaking diesel fuel from the fuel shut off above the fuel filter. I have changed the O-ring while changing the filter but no help.

It is leaking around the brass rod the shut off knob turns. Do I just need to buy this part or is there a fix of some sort; like another O-ring or packing inside or something.

Thanks,
Gus

1995 is it non turbo 3 liter diesel?
If it is, the same engine is mounted on 1996-97 models in W210 bodies and we do have the fuel lines replacement well covered in W210 section. General advise is that if the old line shows sign of leaks, the best way is to replace them all since the set cost about $100.
SOV on this engine is below fuel filter, so I am not clear where your problem is.
A picture is worth 1000 words.

OM606 non-turbo

This motor has already had all fuel lines replaced @ the regular scheduled maint. @ 130,000 miles.

The fuel SOV is on top of the nut that tightens down the fuel filter. They are both located on top of the fuel filter housing. There are no lines leaking; it is the valve itself. It leaks around the brass shaft that shuts down the fuel.
Thanks,
Gus

So this must be different engine.
I had good luck with finding parts drawing on Russian site.
Go to ??????
enter your VIN number for easy search and look for parts.

I figured it out!

BOTH O rings go on the valve. One above the valve opening and one below. I changed it in near darkness last evening and didn't see the lower O ring on the valve. The smaller O-ring in the filter kit, I thought, was for another application.

No leaks---No worries!

This dang thing started leaking again so I bought a new valve. Only Mercedes has it from what I can figure out. Price was 147.00. Not a deal breaker by far but spendy for a part you can put in a letter size envelope. Oh well!

I spend literally hours everyday in my vehicle and drive about 1000 - 1200 miles every week. It's nice to do it in comfort & ease!!

I love these cars,
