Germans generally take good care about their cars and looks like this car is no exception.
For the posters above -consider that the OP is not in US, but in Europe. The Mercedes is one of the most common workhorse in most countries, parts are cheap, mechanic can be found on each city corner and dealers don't focus on ripping the customers off.
I always put the highest value on MB original paint, because this is not only the hardest, but also the most costly to replace. Timing chain cost just pennies in comparison.
Is it just the impression, or the car engine bay is having different color? If the paint is not original, I would check the quality of repaint with huge magnify glass.
Still having the car professionally inspected is very good idea.
The brake fluid looks pretty dark, the suspension oil looks pretty low.
In Germany corrosion is big issue. Check the inner fenders.
