Post W210 ECU Re-Programming

Hello,

I have a Mercedes W210 E220 CDI. My ECU has burnt out. The green board inside it is burnt and I am told that it is not repairable.
I am being offered an old and used ECU with same part number 0245452832 for Euros 150.
Is it possible to re-programe an old ECU with my car's steering lock and key lock?
If so then is it possible to do it with Star Xentry 2009?

Thanks

No, you cannot fit a used ECU with Star. You have to have the ECU made virgin first. There are companies who take care of this but it is a bit shady business, most often this is done for stolen cars and stolen parts (but not only for those).

Once the part looks virgin, Star can code it to your car.

You had better figure out first what made the ECU to burn out, likely a short circuit somewhere that could burn the new ECU too.
