Arizona W123 New on the Block

Hello all. I'm a long time MB fan (dad drove a 75 450 SEL, mom a matching blue 85 300d) finally taking the plunge. I own and LOVE 2 other MB cars neither with the MB star - a 2005 Crossfire SRT6 (AMG power!) and a 2010 Smart Cabriolet. I needed something with 4 seats, a good ride and decent mileage that wouldn't break the bank. I looked at some nice c230s but then my wife saw a W123 and that was it. Enter the Silver Burro! A 1984, 180k mile silver (what's left), blue interior turbodiesel. Straight body. Decent interior. Needed a valve job. That's being done now. Mechanic says everything else checks out OK. Hope he's right. I want to sort the inside and the mecahnicals and leave the outside alone - park it anywhere and don't worry. Drive it LA and back to PHX and don't worry. Wish me luck. Briscoe

ha ha ha, I loved the "Silver Burro" name for the w123. Such sweet cars, I own one of them and of course, it is not a performance automobile by itself. With that being said, they are so elegant, most of the times reliable and very VERY safe. Personally, I believe they are making a "comeback". Nice to meet you.
