parts for spark plugs and transmission service

Hi All,

Please recommend the brand of spark plugs and transmission filter/gasket that would be used for spark plug service and transmission fluid change. I've read that Bosh Platinum are good for spark plugs; how about the transmission filter/gasket. any particular recommended brands besides the mercedes brand? Just curious

I have a mercdes 2002 c240 and am having an independent mercedes authorized mechanic due the work on the side; he is going to recommend as well. Just curious of any thoughts on the board.

thanks!

If it ain't broke don't fix it. At the risk of sounding like a heel, better than the parts that came with the car there might be some but, according to the MB engineers, none were more adequate or a better value within the limits of the design spec. If this was superseded by further development, you MB authorized mechanic would have the info and advise you. If you cannot trust him, find another.

Also, under the sedans C Series threads for W203, going down the thread index page, you will probably get advise from co-users of cars similar to yours.

Cheers, JV.

A car would show appreciation for preventive maintenance by never leaving his owner stranded.

Thanks all, for your reply; I appreciate your insight. I did go w/ Mercdes parts, which seems like a no brainer in hindsight.
