Help Needed & Question 560SL

I had a problem with my engine and have repaired it how ever while confused during repair I touched an adjustment and should not have. My question is how do I re-adjust the setting of the air adjustment located through the hole in the top of the air filter cover. I think this is an air adjustment. The car seems to be running OK, maybe a little rough since I touched this. I moved this adjustment with an Allen wrench. Does this just change the idle or does it also effect high RPMs?

Thanks Gary

How did you get to it it is usually sealed, the ajustment is usually done thru a exhaust analyzer and is referred to as lambda. It affects the mixture, that is why it is sealed

Air adjustment

I got to it by removing the seal, not a smart idea but I do stupid things like that. So what you are saying is I cannot adjust it back. I did not move it more then a turn then I moved back I hope. Is it a very sensitive adjustment?

Yes, you can adjust it back and yes, it's pretty sensitive. Ideally you want to do this with an exhaust analyzer, so you can have an idea how rich you're making it. You can try it by feel/sound, but it seems like that's what got you in the predicament you're in.
