Post Howdy from Pearland TX...

My bride drives her 1998 CLK 320, or 2006 E55, to work daily. My daily driver is a Tahoe, but I get to drive the Benz's when they are dirty or out of gas. Been diving Benz's since the early 1980's, and we picked up the E55 at auction in March 2010. It was a off-lease car I bought from MB Financial.

It had 34K miles and was still in warranty which I took advantage of. Several electrical "glitches" were taken care of, but now it's out of warranty. I have found several minor problems I need to take care of from the previous owner.

I need to replace two wheels that were bent in an "incident" that was not documented. Discount Tire found the dings when I put Hankook Evo's on to replace the Continentals. Looks like one side hit a pothole pretty hard. So, I am looking for wheels, and that is how I found this forum.

I am a sponge for information and will utilize this site to educate myself about Benz's. Particularly the E55, because I am considering making speed/handling modifications to this car. It is sweet. Let's see what I can find on after-market wheels now. Nice meeting you all...Bob

Welcome to the forum! Have you thought about getting the rim repaired instead of replaced?

Thanks for your response H- Town. I have been going back and forth on; repair two rims, buy oem relacements, or buy some aftermarket rims. I was surfing for forums to discuss when I came across benzworld. Look's like a great site.

I do not know anybody who repairs offhand, but my concern is will a repaired rim cause me future structural, or balance problems. The inside of two rims, fr and back, are bent at the rim lip. It looks like the wheel fell into a hole hard, and that put a divot in the two wheels.

Got any experience, or advcie here? Thanks. And what are you driving neighbor? I also love talking about, and hearing about cars. See ya...Bob
