Smile ML320 Slips out of gear into neutral

My ML320 has slipped out of drive gear and into neutral while driving up a very gentle slope/hill. I accelerate, the tac reves but there is no power, just like when you are in neutral gear. This has actually happened three times in the last five years on the same exact street, almost at the same exact spot. Its very uncanny, my ML320 has never slipped out of gear anywhere else, just this same street in same area of street. I pull over and put vehicle into park and then back into drive and vehicle resumes with no problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked the transmission fluid level and quality? also how many Km has the car done? Has the transmission fluid and filter ever been changed?

Three times in 5 years - in the same place. That's spooky.
