92 SL500 ASR

How's it going? so i bought a 92 SL500 off of my dad for $4000 and thought it would be worth fixing it. Here's the problem.
The ASR light turns on every now and then, i can turn the key back and let it roll for about 3 seconds and turn the key forward again and it's gone. sometimes it does this a lot and sometimes it wont come on all day.
The car is a bit shaky on idle, almost like if it has a misfire, and on reverse it feels like i am slightly pressing the brake and letting off but my foot wont be touching the brake "again like a misfire." i have been reading and found that most people with this problem fix it by replacing the electronic throttle actuator. I called mercedes of long beach "the car is in California at the moment" and they asked for my vin, they said that my car is not equipped with that part. instead they gave me 2 parts and part numbers that it could be. any help would be appreciated, thanks. i am also looking for a way to troubleshoot this car, first benz i have owned.

fuel distributor $2500 00074251388
throttle switch $640 0021401953

Welcome aboard;

ASR light can come on for a multitude of reasons.

If it's not on permanently, it may be it is just correcting the car trajectory.

I suggest you browse through the R129 section of this forum, you will find a host of information and answer to your queries.

I'd start with the OVP relay, about 80 or so.. get the Genuine bit, the aftermarket relays are Junk.
