junk car?

would you recommend putting 4000-5000 dollars into a 2002 e320 mercedes stationwagon plus $800 for srs light that is on to fix and $800 for leaking oil from valve covers to fix total $5500-6000. engine has 154,000 miles?????

In good condition you would pay something like $9000.00 if you buy it,so what do you think?

You don't mention what one gets fixed for $4000-$5000. Regardless, it's a common mistake to make a decsion to buy vs. fix based on a cost of repair vs. value of car comparison.

What you also need to consider, probably consider first in this case, is how much will a new car or replacement car cost you? Probably much more than $5,000, and that might only get you another car with more problems.

Nope, part it out. You are getting too close the market value and things will continue to break with that high of mileage. You will get a good chunk of $$$$ for parts from that car.

6K is heck of an amount to spend on an 8 y/o high mileage car.

Save this money, sell the car - or part it out as suggested - and you might be able to get a newer C-class.
