JoeVal: Is low sulfur the same as low ash?

Mobil engineers do not confirm that it is a problem to use 229.51 in a petrol engine. See forum Q & A here:

I think I know what happened to you. I made a mistake when doing my oil change myself, and had similar results and mess after a much shorter drive. Your local shop may have made the same mistake. The cap over the oil filter has two grooves that both can fit the very large O-ring. I mistakenly put the O-ring in the top groove (the one closer to the top of the cap). Bad mistake. Oil all over the front of the engine compartment after only 3 miles. On the 2007 ML350, the large O-ring goes in the lower groove of the two. Hope others can learn from my mistake...
