That is not an option. Besides I would have $20K to spend on insurance from him if I got a $80 000 car.

So you are set on blowing the entire amount at once and saving almost none of it?

You have many things to learn at your young age.
A $80,000 car for a 16yr-18yr old might not be the whole $20k but as soon as you get your first ticket it will be there.
And I would bet you will have your first ticket within 90 days.

Good luck with your problem!

I once considered an e class, but decided if I was going to get a big sedan go used s class. And don't judge me! I may have a few hundred thousand in the bank and you don't even know it.

Yea I would spend maybe under 50k for a used Mercedes, save the rest, gain some interest on it, it might come in handy one day. I mean I know your dead set on getting a brand new Mercedes, but you can still get a really good one at a low price. And we aren't judging you for having so much money, it's just that you can use your money more wisely than just blowing it all on one car when you don't know what can or might happen in the future.

So look at like anything under 50k and save the rest in a CD, let that money grow, trust me its more worth it in the long run.

Got benz?

I know wealth usually is insulting, but why don't you guys open your heads at least a bit?
If GUY is getting 100 grand for ride at 16, very likely there is much more where the money come from. Why would you advise him to buy cheap ride for 50 grands and save the rest for the future?
Per my understanding his future involve much more than mere 100 grands.
I happen to know lot of wealthy people. You can easy spot the smart ones from the other.
The smart ones say noting about their wealth.

Kajtek actually took the time ti think the equation of me getting 100 000K for a car through and it the nail on the head but, I didn't want to give you my financial future on a silver platter to get you to actually help me with a car rather than be my financial advisers. Either way, I don't mind getting a used Benz but if its going to be a big sedan, a 2007 S class is at least 60K in Canada if you don't want tonnes of mileage on it, an any Merc with an AMG badge used or new isn't cheap either.

Three words: Hemmings Motor News

I took a quick look at Hemmings and there are some sweet, like new S-Class vehicles for sale at very good prices. You can get a car that's in top condition with very low miles, spend your entire $100k (CDN$) and get something that cost over $150k (US$) new. Unless you tell people you bought it "used" nobody will know the difference.

My point is more about you are young.
It is not a matter of if you will have an accident but when.
You can get a lot of car for $50k. And because you are young and your insurance if be very high why make it even more. That is just the way it is, we have all been there. If you have that kind of money you will be in school for many years. Why not get a car that when it gets used up (trashed) it won't be a big deal. It will not be parked in the best locations when you are at school or when you go out at night. Cars get trashed when you are in school.
As far as having a safe car that is great. Things do and probably will happen.
If you were my son I would not want a car that you could get 6+ others in just in case there was an accident.
You should be able to find a E or S class that is 3 yrs old for $50.
Just searched CPO only, 2007, S500 and there is 90+ for $55k with 30k miles.
Have Fun and Good Luck
