The coolant temperature on my 04 e500 shows about 85 degrees Celsius even when i just drove a car for 5 min, is it normal? What should be a normal temperature?

That is a bit high, especially after 5 minutes!! Coolant temp sensor could be malfunctioning or there could be a cooling system problem.

That sounds about right to me. I just checked mine, and it reached 85deg C after 2 miles, and then stabilized there.

You have a coolant warning light on the Instrument Cluster for very high water temp alarms. Your thermostat is set to open at 87 +/- 2 deg C which looks to be working OK.

Relax....you're OK
