Yeah small world for sure! What happened to your MINI?
Yeah I was looking at quite a few German cars lol and I eventually found my 190 at a local import car dealer. It was really well looked after, 1 owner, maintained at that dealer since it was almost new, etc and I absolutely love it.
I haven't taken any photos of it though (yet I've had it for 7 months). I bought a new aftermarket grille for it recently so when I get around to putting it on (closer to summer), I'm going to get the car nicely washed and waxed on the outside and do a photoshoot with it.
So what made you decide to get a classic Benz? It's a gorgeous one though!
Sounds like a sweet find! Can't wait to see pictures when you get them.
As to the MINI, long story short was pulled over for a ticket, police officer left, some guy wasn't watching the road (saw him messing with something, probably a cell phone in my rear view mirror) and he plowed right into me. He was going about 60MPH at the time. Totaled the car
. Walked away uninjured though, so I have to at least be happy about that.
Finding the 230 Ce was almost an accident. I had passed a W126 SEC quite a few times and had fallen in love with it, and after the accident I looked into getting one of those. Found out that a stickshift model is pretty much non-existant, so I just started to search for vehicles in the sub 5K range. I had wound up behind a beautifully kept Turbo diesel and fell in love with the W123 body style as well. I figured that I wouldn't be able to find a stickshift variant so I just started to look for vehicles in the sub-5K range and stumbled across this one that was for sale at a dealership in Virginia. Went and had a look at it, realized it was in amazing shape (other than a non-working AC, but I don't use it any way) and got it from the dealer for $3700.00
I'm super-pleased with it, and hope that it will have a little more luck than my MINI did!
