I have just purchased my first Mercedes and as is customary I am joining a forum to gain an education in the marque.
It's a '91 300e 24v auto ( my first ever non manual ) in metallic red with cream interior. I bought it last Friday and have driven it about 5 miles so far as the ignition barrel has screwed up and I can't turn the key at all. This makes removal of the barrel a tad problematic. I'm not putting a downer on the car as early impressions are very favourable, in fact I love it. It's just a pity I can't drive it at the moment.
If anyone can give me a pointer or two, especially how to get the plastic trim cap off the front of the lock I will be eternally grateful.
