Post Plastic "chrome" trim flaking off AC vents

The plastic "chrome" trim is flaking off my AC vent air directors (?) and looks pretty poor compared to the nice look of the rest of the interior. Anybody know of a place to get replacement parts or have any ideas on touching them up?

I have the same problem on my 06. About half of the plastic 'chrome' is flaked off on the center dash vents. I'd sure like for them to look new again, the rest of the interior has held up very well.

I have the same issue with the chrome flaking off the A/C vents (and the button on the cu[p holder down on the console). And my 05 C230 Kompressor barely has 40,000 miles on it now. I cant believe how cheesy MB is with the way they plate parts given the price of the cars when new!........................Jon 05 C230 Kompressor
