Door Open Indicator

The door open indicator goes off and on continually on my 2005 C230. The doors aren't open. Can I do something to disconnect it without having to take it into the shop?

Why would you want to "disconnect the door open indicator"? Perhaps you can fix it, if not, then le someone else fix it.

What have you checked so far? I would start from the door switches, use a temporary buffer to test if the switch just opens from body movements while driving, this sometimes happens.

If you are too cheap to fix a door open sensor, then you should just sell the car now and go buy a Hyundai or Kia.

Often it does not even need new parts, I believe there is even an official bulletin that explains how the sensor is "raised" to better reach the door. Of course the sensor tap could be broken too in which case a few dollar's switch needs to be replaced.
