How long to full vacuum.

Newbie here, and thanks in advance for any help, am pulling out my hair.
The main booster line, with both small outlets closed, comes to 25"hg in about 30 seconds. On either of the small nipples it takes about 5 mins with one on the gage and one closed off. The main booster line is new, as is the booster. I relieved the most forward nipple with a 1/16" drill bit, but it did not change the speed of pulling down the vacuum.

The brakes feel hard, and just the same as the old booster felt.
The eng vac will shut down the engine, so that valve is ok, but not with everything hooked up, the reservoir seems to hold vac, when I use the hand pump.
Have been going through everything I can think of, one step at a time but no joy.
The modulator line holds vac.
Am frankly bewildered. Need the car to get to Seattle next friday for an important meeting, and am getting paranoid. Sorry about the ramble, & have tested every thing I can think of.

You have a W123 and you will probably get a quicker answer by asking the members hanging out in your native forum. Go the BW homepage, scroll down to the sedans area, and look for W123. Goos luck and welcome.
