1989 MB 300 SE (gasoline) fuel problem
I recently purchased this car, and it was running decent.
It began running very sluggish. I pulled the tank and it was full of junk. Flushed it. Replaced the fuel filter, the fuel pump, the distribution pump, spark plugs, wires, distribution cap and rotor.
Above 25 or 30 mph, the car runs like it never has. Responsive and powerful.
The idle is rough, and it surges from 600 rpm up to about 1400 rpm. Sometimes. When you take off from a dead stop, most times it falters and acts like it's loaded up. Sometimes it takes off perfectly. Once you get above 25 mph or so, no problems.
I'm thinking maybe it's the throttle body? Anybody have any experience with this?
