Visiting Stuttgart ...Need ADVICE on factory tours..actvities

Hi all,

I am going to Germany, (Stuttgart) and would love to go to the factory tour in Sindelfingen. I am going to the museum too. I have read online at the MB site about the Sindelfingen factory and it really doesn't tell how to schedule unless you are with a large group. I know the dates are depending on production, and schedules.

Does anyone know how to schedule a tour? Has anyone been to the Mercedes museum/and or factory? I did write to the email listed on the site but haven't gotten a response. Any help would be so appreciated! My car was made there and I would love to visit.

Thanks
Robin

Did you email to the address below? For a smaller group you could make the reservation by phone but I don't see why it would not work via email.

If you have time at the museum, take part to the Untertürkheim engine factory tour. I think they have one in German and one in English per day.

How soon is your trip?

At Sindelfingen there is a "customer center" where you can do some shopping.

There's a Maybach sales area. I think someone nearby can help you order an armoured Mercedes, too.

There's the S-class production line. Probably E-class somewhere nearby, too. No roadsters IIRC. No engines.

Best way to do this if from the USA is ...

And, don't forget the Classic Center.

appreciate the info :)

Thank you both for the reply. I am a Member of the Mercedes Benz Club and I should have checked out the trips with them before booking my own. We will be there in Stuttgart the 9th of May through the week, then on to Munich. I am looking forward so much to go see the cars, its been a dream of mine since a child.

I did use the same email...maybe they will respond, or I will just call. I dont want to miss going to Sindelfingen!

Thanks again,
Robin

Hi MB124,
Stuttgart city is the main place, and has the museum and engine plant(s). There are regular tours, although you should check to see that your time is in English. Sindelfingen factory is a car assembly plant, with separate buildings for the different models eg S, E, C, etc. It is a satellite suburb and not easy to get to (time consuming by public transport). You should try and pre-book your (English) tour before you travel.

I spent an interesting afternoon tour of the Untertürkheim engine factory, tour guide guide was a retired German engineer, and just as I thought he was finishing his comprehensive explanation in each section, he would say "UND, der machin....." and continue for another long peroration.

No photographs allowed, of course :-(

I hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip
regards
David

Hi. I heard back from Sindelfingen and they regreted to inform me that they weren't giving tours through the end if May to the public. But......good news followed when I read my email further.

Since I have a new Benz that was made there they are going to place us with the others that are picking up their cars through the European Delivery Program! Tour is free of charge! Oh my how thrilled I am to get to go! Thanks for the advice everyone!
