1990 300SEL Blower problem
I have been looking at a 1990 300SEL to buy. The asking price is $2400. Cosmetically the car is in great shape. It has 200,000 miles on it.
My wife and I took it for a test drive yesterday. It seems to perform the way it should. The front end suspension is tight and smooth, all bushings are good with no cracks or sign of deterioration. We did notice that the AC is cold but does not blow. I checked the strip fuse and the fuse is blown. I might be able to just replace the fuse and all would be fine, but my experience is that if it blew once it will blow again because of a problem with the blower. My question is, if I decide to by the car and have to replace the blower motor, how difficult of a task is this? I own a 1970 280SEL and those blower motors are very difficult to replace. I would appreciate any help from anyone who has had experience with these.
