Delayed Intro: Peanut and Myself.
After a 2 year search, found low-mileage 240D 4-speed near my home in Palm Springs, CA. Had initial intent of converting to veggie-oil, but find there's too much seemingly contradictory info regarding what's required for tank set-up given the SoCal climate and my essential inability to source/filter/store used oil as a regular fuel source.
Peanut is a 1979 baby blue 240D w/4-speed. Navy blue vinyl interior that has seen better days. But he only has (now, after four years ownership) 177,000 miles. Otherwise, he's about as basic as can be: A/C, sunroof, but crank windows, etc.
Slowly getting used to working on him, but he's my first MB and first diesel. I used to be a vintage Cadillac fan, but love the inherent design I discover when spending time under the hood.
