Warranty offer for 2nd owner?

Just bought an 07 E63 with 45,000 miles. Have read a lot about the benefits of purchasing extended warranty, but noticed someone saying it is not available to a 2nd owner. Any suggestions?

As I understand it, as long as the MB is still within the new car warranty period it can be extended by a 2nd owner. That is to a maximum of 7 years from original date of purchase and up to 100,000 miles.

When I bought my 05 CLK 2 years ago, I purchased the M/B extended warranty which covers the car until January, 2013 or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first. This vehicle had 18,500 miles on it at the time of purchase.

I knew warranties like the aforementioned were offered for original owners and CPO cars. If so, at closing the deal the private seller can purchase it and endorse it.

A car would show appreciation for preventive maintenance by never leaving his owner stranded.
