Need a Part

I just purchased a 2004 C240 4matic and the shift gate (I'm not really sure what it's called) keeps poping out of place when I go from park to drive and so forth. I can see that a clip is broken and I'll need a new one. Does anyone know a website or have one for sale or know where I can get one. Also, Is that what they're even called. Normally I would call it a shift boot, but now I have an automatic and this is hardle a "boot". Please help. Thanks!

I suppose you might try a high-end salvage yard and see if you can glom a part off a wreck. I expect it's going to be a dealer part if you look for a new one. You can try some of the aftermarket suppliers, but it's an odd piece.

It would help if you take time to fill out your profile so we'll know where you are. Someone might be able to recommend a salvage yard near you.

Good luck.
