My slk engine light on code show P0170 and P1420, I brought my car to a local mechanic clean out MAF, changed air filter, check for vacuum leak, changed rubber tube, changed catalyic converter due to faulty smell underneath the car "problem solved", but engine light still there I brought it to local Mercedes for a diagnostic show 2 pages of problem that need to be fix most of it are minor, does anyone have similar problem ? how to get rid of the engine light so I can pass the inspection emission, I just unplugged MAF drive it around hopefully engine light will not go back on, help me out guys thanks.

Same problem I have. My SLK was park for winter, I started the car no problem. after a while SE comes on (P1420). Clean the MAF, drove for 80 kilometers the following day no SE. I thought my problem was solved, today SE is back with a combination of P0170 and P1420. My car is a 2000 SLK 230.
Please help!

A search for "P1420" on the R170 forum came up with these threads: - Mercedes-Benz Discussion Forum - Search Results

I will let you look through them! Hope you figure out the problem. If you post you question in the forum specific to your model, in this case R170, you are more likely to have someone who can help you. The search button in the upper right helps too.
