buying c-class helpp

hi there im a new member here as im hoping to be buying a benz very soon, im very new to it all and was hoping som1 here could help, im not sure wether to get a 1.8 petrol or 2.1 deisel. i know deisel is cheaper to run but does the slightly bigger engine size balance it out with the 1.8 petrol? i was wondering does any one know the miles per gallon as this would really help with my decision making, as if there is not too much difference feul cost wise betwen the two i will probably just stick to getting the petrol version.
thanks in advance for your help,

When having that kind of questions the best decision is to buy a more economic car. Fuel is the last thing you should worry about when considering a Mercedes.

A car would show appreciation for preventive maintenance by never leaving his owner stranded.

Defensive Driving is never having to say you're sorry: a true love story between man and machine.

I drive a C220 diesel, and when I was in UK, was getting close to 600 miles on a tank.
You wont get anywhere near that with a petrol, go for the diesel.
Good luck and enjoy.

Go for the Diesel.
Also; get a Service Manual so you can properly maintain her.
Diesels are NOT like Gasoline/Petrol.
They are, let's say, Unique.

Good Luck and many happy miles
