1996 Mercedes E300D for sale? Should I buy
I am a 17 year old car fantic about to get my first car and unlike some other teens smoking crack, I actually CARE about the car I want drive. No American or Japanese for me (unless high end Lexus, probably not happening. Don't want my pedal sticking to the floor)
I found a very attractive sheet of metal: A 1996 Mercedes E300D with 360,000 miles on it.
The car looks like new and the interior looks like the car only has 100K on it. Some wear on the drivers seat but doesn't look 360K miles.
Owner wants 2200 for it or I can talk it down with cash.
Needs a new exhaust and a few glow plugs are bad but other than that it fires right up!!! Can I fix the glow plugs myself??? Is it hard?
Good deal or what? Its a loaded model too!!!! 6 dash in CD player, moonroof, keyless entry, leather, yada yada.
I think its DIRT cheap. I see ones on ebay for 96 or 97 with 150K and the owners want around 10 grand.
Also, are the powertrains slow? I only could drive it around the block but it felt pretty good at low speeds but these things have 137 HP and 154 lb. of torque ONLY! So are these things slow when you step on the gas??? Highway merging? I NEED A FAST CAR!!!!!!!
My friend has a 1995 Lexus SC300 and his parents drive two new E350's (2008) and I want to compete with him
If its slow, Ill just get a Volvo S70/V70 XC Turbo or a BMW 540i similar year
