gas gage and light stays on

hi i have a 1996 w210 and i notice that i have been rubibg out off gas faster then usuall .. but one day my gas light came on.. i filled it up but it didnt go off .. im always on E.. what is my problem

3 guesses; either your gauge died, a fuse blew, or your fuel level sending unit is bad. Try a search on the W210 forum for other threads/posts on this. There also might be something in the stickys. Good luck and welcome to BW.

i went out side and i took out the sending unit and the leveling part is broke off... when i tried to start my car again it was cutting back off .. i took it out again and made sure it was tight and it ran again .. i think its the sending unit im going to change it my self .. another quetion i have 235xxxxxxx miles on my car im bout to do a tune up .. what kind of spark plugs do u recomend

Don't know for a 1996 because I have a 2001. You'll find the answer somewhere in the W210 forum. Start by looking in the stickys. If the car is dying on you it might be something else but new plugs certainly won't hurt anything.
