Question new Texas member

2004 C240 Wagon, original owner (actually the wife's daily driver)

last week triggered CEL after it cranked 10 seconds before finally starting...

suspected CKP, ordered Haynes manual, and ordered Actron scan tool...

car subsequently starts each time, runs showing CEL, but without problem...

received manual and scan tool this evening (thanks Amazon and UPS)...

plugged it in, keyed on, tool read only code P0335, confirming CKP...

now seek online, good source for this (and future) parts...any hints?

Haynes manual says new CKP must be synchronized by MBdealer using true is that...or is it plug-n-play??

many thanks in advance...glad to join, and thanks for this forum!

Question CKP sync required, or simply plug-n-play ??

ordered CKP sensor...US$83 delivered, not bad for OEM part

while i wait 3 days for its arrival, i remain concerned
about any need for synchronized CKP installation...

is new CKP "plug-n-play," or dealer setup/service required?

has anyone ever replaced their crankshaft position sensor?
