New Member found disconnected hose under dash while replacing idlecontrol 1982 380SL
I am a new member. My wife's daily driver is a 1982 380SL. It is experiencing the high idle problem. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as the idle speed control module. I replaced it this evening. The problem is better but not perfect. When I shift into neutral or park, from drive while stopped, the RPM goes up from around 700-800 to around 1100 then drops back to 700. It is better than it was. We will need to drive it to see if this is good enough.
While replacing the module, I discovered a 1/2" or so flexible hose that was disconnected on both ends. I took some photos of the tube. See attached. I could tell where one end hooks up. It is at a plastic T that leaves the top of the heater box near the firewall. The pipe then snakes up around the air duct under the glovebox and is open behind the glove box. I didn't see a place where to hook up this end.
Any help would be appreciated.
