My wife drives a 2008 E350 and is techno-phobic. I got her an iMac a year ago and now she's got it figured out and loves it. So much so that she demanded (and got) an iPhone 3GS. Cell phones were "emergency only" equipment until now.
So I have been investigating integration of iphones into the COMAND system and it seems the more info I get, the less I know (like Buddhism). The car is wired for phone and iPod and has the connecting port at the rear of the console. One question is, "Has MB figured out full functionality?" Does the contact info transfer? Can she, with either a bluetooth or direct connection, listen to music and/or audiobooks via the phone connection.
I understand that MB has lagged behind on this area of technology (maybe the butler should answer the phone) and the solutions I am reading about are all over the board. I read that the phone seems to work if you just want to make calls, but nothing else does with the MB hardware. But some of those posts or articles are old, so the question is: Has MB caught up technology-wise and What do I need to buy for full function use of the 3GS through the COMAND system and screens?
Seems like there's plenty good info here! Glad to be aboard!
