Hi...I'm new to this forum, but have had my 99' E-320 since new. It was purchased for the wife when she was kicking tires in the showroom and fell in love with the car. We both have company cars as daily drivers so the E has only 45,000 on the clock as it is only driven on vacation or when only the Mercedes will do.
We also have a 96' Corvette convertible Lt-4 if you know vettes. It also was purchased new and has 44,000 miles on the clock. It only gets driven up and down the coast on HwyI.
But back to the Mercedes...what a fantastic car! Every time I drive it I am impressed with the overall performance and quality of the car. I do my own oil changes just because I enjoy doing it, although the dealer that I bought it from is reasonably priced and very responsive for service. I have upgraded the tires with Goodyear GS-D3s like I have on the vette. I just purchased Hawk HPS break pads for front and rear and will put them on in the next week or so. I am looking forward to doing more of my own mantinence as the car gets older.
When I 1st bought the Mercedes I thought that I would up grade to a new E or S class in a few years but the darn car is so solid and good looking I will probably just keep it. Besides I don't like car payments.
