C Class battery replacement

I have a 2003 C200 K coupe, UK version.
The battery is getting tired and on cold starts the voltage is so low it triggers the light sensor and sometimes the srs.
Clearly I need a new battery but am concerned that if I disconnect the old one I may cause problems. Is it necessary to use a 'piggy back' power source or connect another battery before removing the old one, or can I just disconnect, swap then connect the new one. I do not think the radio has a code, but am concerned it may trigger other sensors into misbehaving!

Any one done this?

Welcome aboard
disconnect the battery negative terminal first, then positive
reconnect new battery positive first then negative.
you can go to a MB dealership to get the radio code.

I replaced the battery in my US 2001 C240 sport after about 8 years of service by simply removing the old battery and replacing with the new battery as in the above post. All of the accessories and sensors remained happy.

Thanks for the replies. I contacted my MB dealer to get the radio code just in case, having purchased the car used from them. Guess what, their records do not show the code for my car, and they did not supply one when I bought it.
Their response was, 'take it to a radio technician to recode it!!'
