New from Atlanta, Georgia

Just got myself a 1991 300D...124 body style with the 2.5 turbo. My Dad had a 190D a long time ago and I was hooked. I had a '83 300SD and was loving it. It just had hit 300K when I left it in "D" drive to rush in the house only to turn and see it rolling down the street and ending up against a huge tree. Frame rail bent, totaled...massive body damage. It took me several years to find my next baby. A service manager at RBM was selling his and I bought it. White/Grey with dark blue interior. Superb condition inside and out with only 124K. Got it for five grand. Needs struts, new intake manifold gaskets and work on the HVAC vents and some other odds and ends but otherwise I'm feeling very happy and lucky.

Sorry to hear about the SD, but congrats on the 124/OM602.. I commute daily in a 92 300D 2.5..great cars for rolling around atlanta

With new struts & shocks and a proper alignment it will feel like a new car!

Alignment in Atlanta

You are talking four wheel alignment correct? Who has the hardware in town to do the proper MB alignment and doesn't charge an arm and a leg?

P.S. Know anywhere to get keys made inexpensively...I have the plain jane keys, no sensors, etc.

You want to talk to Gran Turismo East...IMHO, they are the only place to go for Proper alignment/balance etc..

Kieran is the fellow you want to speak with. Jeff who has been doing alignments has been @ it for over 20 years. They are all over qualified, Know what they are doing and actually Care as to how your car turns out.

As for keys, the dealer should run about 25$ each which isn't bad

Thanks Jonathan

BTW, RBM wants to charge me $50/key...which dealer will do it for $25/key?

Thanks again in advance.
