Hello folks! R350 owner here...

Hi everyone!

About a year and a half ago, my wife found and bought an '06 R350. We needed to replace an aging Ford Taurus that was too small for our kids and their friends. The car was a program car that was at a ludicrously low price due to higher gas prices at the time. We also looked at a new Ford Flex, but found the dealer to be obnoxious and cocky ("I don't need to make any deals. We are selling plenty of cars").

I have previously owned Subaru's (an XT and a Forrester - still have that one. Need one car to haul stuff in), and I kind of know my way around inside that brand. The Mercedes was and still is kind of intimidating to work on. Given that we tend to own these things for a long time, I want to make sure that anyone that works on it knows what the heck they are doing. Thus all of the work done on the R350 has been done at the dealers. If anyone knows a good mechanic outside of a dealer in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, I am open to suggestions! Until then, Motorwerks of Barrington it is... They were a complete pleasure to work with, er, aside from having dealer prices . Got a C300 as a loaner (very nice! I'll take two! After I win the lottery anyway...).

Anyway, being new to the brand, I figure it's time I benefited from others experiences with it. I hope to be able to help someone out at some point as well.
