C280 woes

My 96 c280 just started missing, I think it's cylinder #1. The check engine light is not illuminated though.

I started by taking out the intake pipe, and coil cover off to inspect. I found that the coil-pack closest to the firewall has lime build up along with the plug wire. I cleaned them both up and reinstalled everything. After I put everything back together, the strangest thing happened. My transmission will not shift on its own, I have to shift it manually.(by releasing the accelerator)

The car is still missing, I'm going to pick up a new coil tomorrow.

Anyone ever had this issue before? (the transmission issue)

I did manage to break one of the vacuum lines while moving them out of the way, but I replaced the damaged lines.

Where should I start to fix the shifting issue?

Thanks!

To me it does sound like a vacuum line issue, did you use the same type of line to replace it? Maybe one came off if not fitted perfectly. Anyways, for more accurate help come on over to the W202 section where others with your car can better assist you.

No, it was a different type of line. I just used some line I had laying around. It was the same size and was a tight fit.
