Isn't your jet diesel-powered?

Good point. It's actually kerosene-powered, but it will run on diesel. EPA might take objection to that. There are actual diesel engines in aviation (Thielert et al), but they run on kerosene (jet fuel).

Jet fuel is more known as a modified diesel fuel, than modified kerosene.
There are all products coming from the same oil, so the lines where one product starts and the other end can be pretty murky.
Still the point, that diesel, or kerosene have to be modified to withstand low temperatures and still keep minimum lubrication is valid.
When you use summer blend in cold winter -you are going to have troubles.

Just had same problem sorted on my c270cdi 04 plate

Was not glow plugs or injector seals, took it to specialist who have done loads of the same problem over this winter. There are 3 pipes from the fuel pump that needed to be replaced, they were leaking slightly at the seals of the pipes and these seals are part of the pipes, hence you have to buy complete pipes. Cost me £208 to have done, including £60 on Star diagnostics... i was starting my on easy start too!

Not me, I've started mine (6.6l duramax Silverado) at -40F (-40C) even without plugging it in. Stinks for a while, and rattles prett good, but starts fine as long as it's on winter fuel.
