Code PO175...Help, Do I need a New Transmission?

I have a 2001 S40. My car has been stuck in the snow and ice. While I was attempting to push the car out, my wife was revving the engine up kind of high trying to get out of the spot. Afterwards, the car cut off. Later on that evening, the car would not move in any gear as if it was in neutral. Sometime, I have to reatrt the car, then it will let me drive for about a block than go bak to slipping again, as if it's in neutral. While it is in drive, it won't even let me down shift gears 3, 2, or 1. The next day, I took the car to a local mechanic and the following code came up: PO715.

Question: Does this mean that I need a new transmission? Did she brun the transmission out by revving the engine up to high?

Also, although this may not be correlated, my power sterring pump went up as well while we were trying to get out of the snow.

Help!...Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The Power steering pump went up right after we've been trying to get out of the snow....when we were revving the engine up.

P0715 is input speed sensor malfunction, hardly means transmission failure.

Shew, thanks!...But even if it's slipping? The codes stated something like, "Turbine/input shaft speed sensor a circuit. So, after replacing this sensor, everything will be okay? Is it something I can do or will the dealer have to do the service?

Went up where? Did the pump leave the engine compartment? What do you mean it went up?
