According to the WIS, I have identified this fault on another model, but it could be your reason also. For W208 (after 1997) with 113 engine.
Fault: Auxillary fan runs when engine is off.
Cause: "Water ingress in the fuse/relay box, via the housing cover, causes corrosion at the contact between the fuse and relay module, front passenger relay box (SRB) and the SAM."
So I would examine this area for any signs of corrosion, as it would seem that the cover is not totally waterproof. Here's a picture of the parts involved.
1. Clamping lever. 2. Fuse carrier. 3. Couplings. F1/1 Right fuse box. K40/7 Right front fuse & relay module. N10/7 Passenger side SAM control module.
