Hi!

I recently bought a 2002 CDI 220 station wagon which seems like a fantastic car, I already love it. About 230000 km on it.

At lower speeds (<80 km/h) it seems to handle really well, above that it sometimes gives me an intermittent "wobble" in a bit sharper curves. It´s pretty unconfortable.

I can also mention that the previous owner told me that the car needs "front wagon adjustment", (the steering wheel has to be slightly turned to the left to drive straight). A procedure which should be quite straight-forward according to him.

Is there any connection? Or maybe do I have a more serious problem which requires immediate attention?

I´m a beginner when it comes to car mechanics, so pls bear with me!

We wouild call that a front wheel alignment in the US and it should be straightforward. Just be sure you use a good alignment shop that knows Mercedes. Most members over here recommend a dealer for this job. Welcome to the forum.

The answer calms me alot, now I know that the problem is not so serious. I´ll get it done in the coming week.

I have a lot to learn so I will probably come back later with more stupid qustions..

There are no stupid questions but some people ask them that have been asked and answered before. All we ask is that you try a search and look at the stickys before asking. Most issues have been covered, and somtimes several times.

You're welcome but I forgot to mention something. You can search just in the forum that is designated for your chassis. That way is usually easier to find the right answer for your car. So depending on what you have, look for C-Class, E-Class, S-Class and then the year. I don't know what you mean by CDI 220 -02 but I suspect you have either a W210 or W211. Good luck!
