The MB links at Internet dealers wouldn't be that much higher.
Ford links are way bigger, but than we are comparing parts made in Germany to parts made in Mexico.
In these days of global manufacturing, not everything that goes out of the US is totally made there, nor what comes out of Germany, and so on and so forth.
Can't remember what was that I saw in a Box as "Made in Germany" though it was an OEM component stamped in Philippines. On the coin other side, costs become similar to figure prices in a legally uniform scenario, wherever the parts are made. Price a Bosch spark plug made in Brasil and one in Germany, or something like it, and see. There may exist a peculiar condition due to NAFTA between the US, Mexico and Canada, but the Hq. price is the prevailing price throughout.
So, yes, I'm comparing part prices for components made anywhere. And the true OEM factory cost of any item is 10% of list for manufacturer made parts and 47.5% for sourced parts. Of course to this all the costs of sales have to be added.
It's a funky world, full of people trading cows, chickens and pigs...
