Exclamation Navigation DVD not Available

Hi,

I have a 2005 S430 4Matic
I am getting an error message of :No Navigation available,Please insert Navigation DVD.
What is the problem?
I recently purchased the newest DVD for 2009,Could I have missed the updates or is this more of a hardware issue?
Thanks for any insight.

Are you sure it is the correct DVD? What is the MB part number on the DVD?

It could always be the navi processor DVD drive too. I thought 2009 included the firmware update but you should check this from old posts.

Have you ever gotten the 2009 map to work or is this your first time trying it?

I thought not, but this was a good question for clarification.

I recently got the same message when I attempted to activate navigation during the middle of a long road trip. I, too, was using the 2009 map.

Not wanting to be without directions, I pulled into a rest stop to troubleshoot the problem. I tried everything I could think of - turned off the car, cycled the power to the comand, ejected and inserted the 2009 map dvd, etc. Nothing worked.

Lucky for me, I keep my old 2006 map dvd in the trunk. I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but to make a long story short I used the old map dvd to "jump start" my NAV system. Once the display showed a map view again, I removed the old dvd and inserted the new dvd. It has been working fine ever since.

Not sure if this will help you with your problem but it worked for me.

The Nav disc is actually a 2008 one;

BQ 6 46 0232

A211 827 17 65

Version 7

I don't see the battery in the trunk, just the spare and tool kit??
It looks like 2 slots to remove the fave plate to the Nav system...any suggestions???
