Yes I guess it was amusing for a time but it shortly became tiring as DrJmfrLA put it. I thoight he was probably full of it but on the internet we can't always be certain.

I enjoyed the chat and he passed my test of being British. Not very hard, but still a test.
Not that it would really matter.

Gentlemen! Hello. I'm back. Had a short feinting on the croquet lawn but Wash the But as he likes to call himself conveyed me to my bed for recuperation. Poor old Hawkins is just not up to it any more. In fact the brother from the hood is causing him to lose what little hair he has left and hates being addressed as Bro'.

Now... to the point. BRAVO! The wheelwright to whom I referred earlier has replaced the accumulators and the from now on the Duchess's teeth will stay in her mouth when perambulating with us in the old Benz. My heartiest thanks to you all. And by the way, the gentleman who proffered his view that 27th in line do not DIY or drive old cars knows nothing of the financially impoverished but aristocratically rich British upper classes, so called. We, thankfully, are an exception, I personally rebuilt an Alvis TD 21 transmission a few years back and this MBZ was a gift from none other than Doris Day (a friend of my aged aunt in Beverly Hills) and still has her compact in the glove box, or one of them. Occasionally I sniff it when her L ship isn't looking.

Gentlemen - I bid you farewell but I feel certain of a warm welcome when the old bus needs more TLC - such a charming term. Au revoir - Sir C C de M.

Happy to hear the result sir and thank you for the rather amusing thread

Cyril:

I am appalled by such display of vulgarity and exposure of the Peerage System and the Traditional English Ways to carry in public. I have questions which I shall present at the next PM's Questions Session of Parliament backed by Papers which I hold in truth of my contentions unless you, Sir, apologise to your Peers and to the People of the United Kingdom for such displays of non chalant distaste.

It is not in my station in life to suggest appropriate correcting measures, but it is my solemn duty as citizen who respects all forms of government and living, to present a blatant and faithful relation of facts as a denunciation for what is without doubts a vandal act of rebellion against those to whom you owe being a privileged one amongst very few.

I shall look forward to hear your atonement as mandated by the Code of Your Station.

J.V.

A car would show appreciation for preventive maintenance by never leaving his owner stranded.

Defensive Driving is never having to say you're sorry: a true love story between man and machine.

Yo JV - Wash the But here (Washington the Butler his Lordship prefers). But you got me now cos he real happy with his accumulators and got nothin more to say. I printed up yo words and he laughed like a hyena. He said yo English is full of holes but he wishes you all a very happy new year. He sleepin now so do not disturb for 24 hours. And PS - he already got two Benleys. A S1 and a Turbo. Both unused but polished to hell. Me I'm thinking I'm gonna ask her L ship for a SL 500. One in the village for only 20k. Repectsfully yours. W the B.
