Engine cuts out

I have a 1990 560 SEL with a V8. I starts a little rough in the AM and cuts out a ton gong up hills and when its cold. After drive for about an hour and I either slow way down or come to a stop. The car will sometimes die. Their is really no set time when it will act this way but I have narrowed it down to the above times. Any help is appreciated.

Please tell us what you just had done and we might be able to help by process of elimination. Also this is a general forum and there is one devoted to the W126 which is what you have. You might try posting this there too. Look under the sedans section.

It sounds like a fuel related issue. Either the fuel filter is clogging or the fuel pump is on it's way out. Check and see what the fuel pressure is at idle.
