Becker into a 63

I am interested in retro-fitting a Becker 1480 into my 63 220S. Does anyone have the dimensions? It all depends on if it fits, but in case it does, do I need the separate amp that comes with the radio? I am saving my original radio/amp. As I understand these are coded, but does the car alarm have to do anything with the way it was disconnected from the vehicle?
Thanks guys,
SZ

What you're proposing is similar to putting a first-generation Collins FMS into a T-28 or something of that sort. I say that because none of the Beckers are particularly good radios, and if you're going to do all that jerry-rigging, perhaps you might consider something that will actually give you a good result, like one of those hidden systems maybe.

Overworked and underpaid. We're understaffed by at least 150 and all they recalled was 22. Yeah, that'll work.
