NEED HELP! 1999 C230

Unfortunately left the parking light on during the Holidays in the garage. The battery was dead and the remote key did not work, Opened the door with the mechanical key thinking that I could use the trunk release to open the trunk to get at the battery. No such luck! Next tried the mechanical key on the trunk, managed to turn it left to nine O'clock but still unable to open.
Problem I have now is the car is in the garage with narrow drive, locked steering and gear lever and AMA having trouble towing the vehicle to dealer. Dealer not helpful at all except to say "get it towed into the workshop."
ANYBODY EVER EXPERIENCE SUCH A NIGHTMARE???
ALSO TRIED PHONING LOCKSMITHS WHO REFUSE TO TRY ANY MB CAR LOCKS.
HAVE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED BUSTING TRUNK LOCK BUT NOW AM ASKING THAT EVEN IF THERE IS POWER IN THE BATTERY, WILL THE CAR START.
ANY ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
THANKS.

If the mechanical key in the trunk does turn then it should work if you turn it and once in the unlock position push it in. sometimes the button(which is the lock itself) gets sticky or frozen if cold and you need to hit it with your fist a little. Other wise check for a boost point under the hood. I'm not sure if yours would be new enough to have one.

Thanks for your quick response. I don't know what happened to the lock as I can turn a full 360 degrees and pushing the button did nothing. I cannot find any other boost point and neither could the AMA guy.
