Smile Oil leak 300D

I have a lovely 300D who was recently hit from behind. The obvious repairs are a new exhaust, new towbar and some straightening. Since then Ive developed an oil leak. Its on the drivers side of the motor around the middle of the side (not at the front of the motor). It doesnt seem like a great deal of oil perhaps 50-100 mls but it does spread and its black. The oil pressure gauge is reading the same as it always does and Im not using a noticeable amount of oil. My fuel use is normal and he's not getting any hotter than usual- although it is summer here in Australia and very hot. He gets to around the 90 degrees celcius on a really hot day with in town driving.
Im concerned that the accident has caused some damage to the motor but I dont feel I know enough about it. My gorgeous mechanic is on holidays and wont be back for a few weeks and I dont want to cause any damage to my old boy.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It sounds as if the stress from the hit affected a seal. The good news is that the fluid coming out is dark, and low volume.

If you can verify that it is motor oil, carry a quart with you till your mechanic comes back. Stay clear of long trips and check you oil level and gauge often.

A car would show appreciation for preventive maintenance by never leaving his owner stranded.

Defensive Driving is never having to say you're sorry: a true love story between man and machine.

Is the leak visible around injection pump?
With no oil level dropping I would suspect that you have fuel leak (common on those aging engines) that is washing dirt from engine block.
Lot of topics about fuel lines leaks in W210 section.
