Never trust your eyes

The attached photo is a good example of why you should always test a fuse even though it it looks good. Yesterday, my right window quit working. I opened the trunk and looked at the fuse and as you can see from the picture, the link was not blown. Knowing that these ceramic fuses are notorious for failing in all sort of odd ways, I removed it and low and behold, the end of the fuse fell off into my hand. Corrosion and spring tension had cut the end off causing the circuit to go open. A new fuse with a little dielectric grease applied on each end to stop corrosion and the window is working again.

I used to have this issue with the fuses in my old Volvo 240. It had the same ceramic fuses as your MB and stuff like that would happen all the time.

I always test my fuses with a voltage meter to make sure that they are good or bad.

Avoiding aluminum fuses on brass holders was very well known issue for W123 owners.
Electrocorosion will not show right away, but can be annoying on long run.
