New Owner 1999 slk 230 R170

I am the new owner of a slk 230 R170. Fantastic condition and only 60,000klm on the clock.

Tonight the passenger side mirror became disconnected from the mounting only remaining in place given the 2 wires attached to the mirror

I have since removed the wires connectors to the mirror to avoid it falling off whilst driving.

Does anyone have any information preferrably with a step step insntructions on how to re attached the mirror to the mounting.

I suspect it involves the wire tenstion rod on the back of the mirror however thats as far as i have been able to determine.

Naturally i do not want to apply incorrect force on the mirror trying to re mount it risking braking / cracking one of them moutnings in the process

Any assistance for this first time Mercedes owner would be appreciated
