New Member Introductions

Charlie here, located in Cranbrook, BC Canada. Owner of two MBs.

1975 300D, summer driver. Looks good, runs, moves. Smokes badly, affordable to drive, smooth ride, passes stationary objects and oncoming traffic just fine. I don't pass anything moving in my lane unless they pull over to let me. It has taught me patience. I have most everything still working. Previous owner sunk a lot of money in it, I've got a few hours in it over the last two years, myself. I know my plasma cutter can reach that heater fan under the w/s in under ten minutes! Started that job two years ago, still driving it (summers) with the dash apart.

1992 300TE 4matic. Recent purchase. Looks good, runs good, 79,000 miles. Not too many options operate properly on it, along with a few basics. Downloaded proper owners manual and learned some more there. The most basic of incomplete operator controls information supplied in the owners manual. They did at least explain five of the six postions on the fan knob. (Climate control)

I've witnessed how time compensates for low miles. I purchased both knowing there isn't a dealer within 6-12 hours of here, and that I'd be doing all the repairs myself. (Like I'd pay them more for a couple repairs than the car retails for).... Not their fault; DEALERS must be paid for time, knowledge, and experience, especially when they've no idea of the fix.

Got lots of basic questions I haven't yet located answers to. I'm still honing my "search engine" wording skills.

With the TE suspension repairs not completed, I'm back to driving my pickup.
My thank you goes to everyone who has asked and those who have answered so many questions in the past for me to sift through!

Some cars are like some girls. Cheap to get, expensive to keep.
I'm up for the car challenge.

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I'm new to this site. I have a 2006 S430 which has been pretty good to me. I love the benz family. I recently purchased a ML420 for my daughter as a graduation gift. I feel the benz is the most safe vehicle. I live in Illinois.

I have recently had an issue with the air suspension in my 2006. It won't lift and there aren't any codes showing up. I am at a lost right now.

Welcome Aboard

When you say "no codes", what are you scanning it with? If its an El Cheapo OBDII scanner than no, you wont get any codes other than emission related items. I can virtually promise that if you have the codes checked with the MB STAR diagnosis ( dealer or MB oriented indy shop ) you will have codes, and quit specific at that.
